Sure, you take 12 hours and learn how to ride a unicycle, then you get pretty good and start riding off road, so you get a Torker DX—cool.

But then you go over the top and ride to work every day in Blizzard conditions in Sault St Marie Michigan??

This is dedication!! Hopefully this will inspire others to say, hey, it’s not so bad outside today—let’s go ride!

Air force troops love the Torker Tristar tricycle

From SSgt Stephen Pierson currently deployed to Kandahar AF, Afghanistan.

"We acquired a Torker TriStar that provides a source of morale for us but also the practicality it offers.

We are an F-16 fighter squadron and use it for everything. Transporting parts to aircraft, bringing bottled water to guys working out on the flightline and even taking out the trash. Not only is it a pleasure to ride and has been the source of many laughs but has quickly become a convenient and invaluable tool for our daily duties and routine."

Torker T510 Review

I now have about 400 miles on the T-510 I bought back in early March, 2012. I bought a pearl blue 19" men's bike, having chosen it over the Trek Navigator, KHS Wildwood, Giant Cypress DX, and GT Nomad. I researched your competition to death. I'm the Quality Manager at one of the local Aircraft plants, and I tend to look things over closely before buying anything. I chose the T-510 for its mix of features, outstanding comfort, and its unusual "mixie" frame which makes carrying/tying down the bike a breeze. I have had a lot of folks ask about the bike, and I give it rave reviews on the spot. I honestly haven't found anything on the bike that I feel the need to upgrade; it works perfectly! I attached lights and a small bag for the iPhone, and terrorize the local bike paths.

I just wanted to express thanks for building a great machine. The folks at A Bicycle Service in Derby, Kansas did a great job ordering/assembling/servicing this bike, too.

Regards,

Here is a tricycle modification story that we love and a style we admire. The Cruiser elements—spring action fork, fat slick tires, spring leather saddle, combined with the trunk are awesome. We say well done!!

Rest of the article here.

The new Torker T-29 is not your ordinary cruiser bike, but a cruiser bike “pumped-up” with big fat 29” tires.

Both Bike Hugger and Bike Radar covered the bike, here are the photos from Bike radar showing many of the enduring features of the T-29.

A ”tip of the hat” to James Huang the Technical Editor @ Bike Radar for the coverage.

Great review from a local shop. Check it out. We love when local shops rave about our bikes, because a shop that likes what is sells is always succesful for both brand and shop.

"What I like best about this bike though is that it’s not limited to skinny racing style tires like most road bikes are. The Interurban’s frame has room the kind of robust, puncture-resistant tires that make sense for the urban landscape"

Torker Interurban Urban Velo review.

Great review over on Urban Velo.

"When most bike companies develop their line of commuter bikes, they assume that most people want a singlespeed or an upright bike with an internally geared hub. And while that may not be entirely untrue, there’s a significant portion of the community that appreciate a traditional road bike. I’m talking about an affordable, steel-framed bike with drop bars and gears.

Enter the Torker InterUrban. At just $569 retail, the InterUrban is one of the most affordable road bikes on the market. And unlike a bike purchased from an online retailer, a Torker bought from a brick and mortar bike shop comes with an added level of service and security. "

Ever heard of the Unicycle Football League?

Based our of San Marcos, Texas - the Unicycle Football League is the first organization in the world (that we know of, anyways) where American football is played completely on unicycles. The rules are constantly evolving as ridership and skill level increases.

Photo courtesy of Jose Ole / Flickr Page: http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=unicycle+football.

A basic breakdown of gameplay is as follows:

*We play 5 on 5, using flags.

*Plays can only be made while on your unicycle. Once you fall off of your unicycle, you must get back on before you can affect the play.

*If you dismount the unicycle with the ball, you are down.

*We play 4 quarters with a halftime, and most games we have two referees and line judges. *Touchdowns are 6 points. After a touchdown a team can opt to kick a field goal from the unicycle (2 points), or go for a one-point conversion.

*In Unicycle Football, the traditional coin toss is replaced by a joust on unicycles.

Ok, maybe it all sounds a little crazy. Most people won't really "get" unicycle football until they come out to see it first hand. Basically, it is the most kick ass sport in existence. If you are interested in playing, come out to one of our games or practices. Anyone can play! Those under 18 must sign a waiver to play in the league. If you don't know how to ride a unicycle...no problem! We have extra unicycles and plenty of people willing to teach new riders.

Thanks to our generous sponsors Ozone Bikes and The Hub, we are able to get new riders on unicycles for ridiculously cheap prices. Support your local bike shop!

To get a taste of the action - do a YouTube search for "Unicycle Football League"

"If this bike shipped with a playlist it’d shuffle between Los Amigos Invisibles, Morphine, and Big Pun. A strong backbeat, thick bass, meaninful lyrics, and purpose."

Bike Commuters.com has a great revew of the Torker T-450E Hybrid bicycle. Read the full story here.

"As far as a bike goes, the Torker T-450 is well equipped with a rear rack, fenders, adjustable stem, 5 speed Sturmey-Archer hub and a chainguard. Yes, the bike is heavy compared to motor-less bikes, but surprisingly light to comparable electric bikes. "

"The bike got a lot of of positive comments from my co-workers, although one did say that I was “cheating” because it was an electric bike. I don’t really care about that comment, the point is that I’m back to riding my bike to work and I’m having fun doing it — so what if I needed a little help?"

Awesome review of the brand new Torker Graduate.

One of my favorite things to show people is the sidekick a drum brake can take and still maintain its function. Try that with your high-end hydraulic disc brakes!

Great review of the U-District:

"The bike raised eyebrows in the shop because as soon as we put one up in the window, it was bought and sold in a day or so. We knew this was a solid bike, with a good component setup for a $349 price tag - but the response we got from the young guys and gals picking this bike up has been amazing."

"At first this bike looks Plain Jane, but upon closer inspection you will notice nice features like the internal gearing and drum brakes front and rear by Sturmey Archer."

Here is what they had to say:

"It’s an upright bike whose clean lines and sloping geometry looks fast and spry enough to avoid the surprise pothole, yet tough enough to withstand one."

Momentum Magazine Torker Cargo T contest winner loves his new bike

James Lynch from Niagara New York is the proud new owner of a Torker Cargo T bike. James won the Torker in the contest held in the September/October issue of Momentum Magazine. Momentum magazine is “the magazine for self-propelled people.”

James Story:

Just a quick note to let you know that I picked up my Torker Cargo T that I won in the Momentum Magazine contest. What a beauty! I had some second thoughts after we spoke, about the green color, but the web pictures didn't do it justice. It really looks great and hopefully, will be very conspicuous on the road.

Anyway, I got it home and adjusted the seat and handlebars up for my 6'4" size and headed north to our favorite produce stand which is about 8miles down the Niagara River, where the river meets Lake Ontario, in the Village of Youngstown. When I got there, I discovered the 1st picking of my favorite apple, the NY Empire, and decided to REALLY try out the Cargo T's carrying capacity. I bought a bushel of Empires, probably about 40 lbs worth, bungied them onto the rack, and headed south, home to Lewiston. Had a great ride home. The Cargo T handled the load no problem and I was able to climb the modest hills with ease. I've got to tell you, this is a great bike for someone like me who uses my bike as a daily hauler.

Thanks again for sponsoring the contest and all the best to you.

They had some nice observations.

"The versatile cargo racks and very well-thought-out parts selection make the Torker an investment that should easily pay for itself in reduced mileage on your car, particularly when the load hauling ability is taken into the equation."

Bikecommuters.com reviews the Cargo-T

Read what bikecommuters.com had to say about the Torker Cargo-T.

"One of the best things about the Torker Cargo T is the geometry of the bike. Notice that I’m in an upright, no strain on the back riding position. I never felt any back aches, neck pain or any type of discomfort while riding this bike."
